Humble, Texas
The city of Humble is located approx. 20 miles northeast of downtown Houston. US Hwy 59 is the main thoroughfare through the area. The population is estimated at 20,000 residents.
In recent years, small business districts, several medical centers, and retail developments have been built to support the rapidly growing area. In the mid-1980´s, Deerbrook Mall opened, and the one million square-foot retail center is the area´s major shopping district with many other smaller businesses surrounding the mall.
Humble Education
Humble Independent School District has 30 campuses serving over 33,000 students, and schools in the district have earned "Exemplary" and "Recognized" ratings from the Texas Education Agency. There are several excellent private schools as well.
The North Harris Montgomery County Community College District includes Kingwood College, Montgomery College, and the North Harry College, and they are conveniently located nearby. Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, just a short drive to the North, and a number of fine Houston colleges and universities offer adult education opportunities.

Kingwood
Kingwood "The Livable Forest" is a master-planned community, developed by Friendswood Development Company. It has over 80 miles of wooded jogging and biking trails that wind through nearly 30 deed-restricted communities, and we have over 63,500 residents und businesses that call Kingwood Home.
Kingwood is only 23 minutes north from downtown Houston on Highway 59, and only 14 minutes North from Bush Intercontinental Airport, Houston´s primary airport and world headquarters for Continental Airlines.
It is home to one of the world´s largest private country clubs - The Clubs of Kingwood - which was also the shooting location for the hit movie "Tin Cup".
Kingwood Real Estate
Home prices in Kingwood range from the $85,000 to $4,500,000. There are also several gated communities. The tax rate is 2.90467 per $100 of the assessed value.
Atascocita
Atascocita is primarily a residential area, and the construction industry is booming with the development of several new subdivisions which includes Eagle Springs. It is located about 20 miles northeast of downtown Houston along FM 1960 and U.S. Highway 59 and extends eastward from the City of Humble. The combined population of the area is approx. 30,000 residents. Atascocita has 16 subdivisions. New homes are being built in Eagle Springs and Walden on Lake Houston. Resale starts as low as $70,000 and up to over $1 million for estates and acreage.
New retail centers are also underway to accommodate the demand for goods and services of people moving into these neighborhoods.
Lake Houston
Lake Houston is a man-made lake and is situated between the suburbs of Humble, Kingwood, and Atascocita on the west bank, and Crosby-Huffman on the east. It is a very popular recreational destination for fishing fans, boaters, water and jet skiing enthusiasts, and people looking for a quick get-a-way from urban living.
Port of Houston
The nation´s third largest ocean port, the Port of Houston, is 20 miles from Humble. Rail service runs through Humble, linking the region of the Port of Houston to Galveston.
